Ireland

And this is another fantastic postcard from Jim. It shows Jerpoint Abbey. This Cistercian abbey wa sfounded in 1158 by the King of Ossory, Donagh MacGillapatrick. In 1387 the abbot was fined for violating the Statute of Kilkenny which forbade the admission of Irishmen as members of the community. Jerpoinf abbey is one of the finest monastic ruins in Ireland and it's wealth of history is well documented.
