Crater Lake is Oregon's only National Park. About 10000 years ago Mt. Mazama exploded in a massive volcanic eruption. A giant crater was left which filled with rainwater over centuries. Volcanic activity continued and built the small volcano called Wizard Island, in the middle of the lake. Thank you Joseph for this brilliant description :)
