Israel - Herodium

Herodium was built as fortress palace by Herod. It was conquered and destroyed by The Romans in 71 AD.

Israel - Caesarea

These both amazing postcards arrived from Debora. The first one shows aqueduct which brought water to the old city of Caesarea. Herod built the aqueduct in the first century BC. Later in the second century AD it was expanded by the Romans.

The second postcard shows the Roman Theather of Caesarea. It was built by Herod and it's notable for its modern use for concerts, its fine view of the sea and the inscription discovered here that mentions Pontius Pilate.

Israel - Jerusalem

This postcard showing Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives sent my brother Tomas when he was there. Great one, huh? :)

Israel - The Dead Sea

The Dead see has that big amount of salt that it's not possible for any sea-creature to live under that sea. In Israel they call it "Sea of Salt". This postcard shows the salt crystals at the Dead sea.
Thank you Aviv for this fantastic postcard!

Israel - Tel Aviv

This card shows the Azrieli Observatory in Tel Aviv. Received from Irena. Thank you so-o much!

Israel - Jerusalem (The Western Wall)

Another wonderful postcard from Aviv! I always wanted to receive a postcard showing The Wailing Wall in Jerusalem. Again...I wish I visited this place one day. :)

Israel - Haifa (The Bahai Shrine)

My first postcard from Israel ever. It shows the Bahai shrine in Haifa at the north of the country. I believe this is such a beautiful place. I wish I could visit it one day. Big thank to Aviv who sent me the card!
