Israel - Caesarea

These both amazing postcards arrived from Debora. The first one shows aqueduct which brought water to the old city of Caesarea. Herod built the aqueduct in the first century BC. Later in the second century AD it was expanded by the Romans.

The second postcard shows the Roman Theather of Caesarea. It was built by Herod and it's notable for its modern use for concerts, its fine view of the sea and the inscription discovered here that mentions Pontius Pilate.
